Born in Boston and a graduate of the University of Miami, Andy Osofsky never felt tied to any one place. Instead, he followed the energy of live entertainment, seeking out the excitement of concerts, sporting events, and experiences that brought people together. Andy spent more than 30 years in live TV sports broadcast production for ESPN. Traveling all over the country, his home could be anywhere as long as he had Marley Goose, his scrappy best bud. Ultimately, they chose Providence, RI for a traveler-friendly airport, outstanding food, and its people.

When not on the road, both Andy and Marley enjoyed passing time and meeting new faces at their local dog park on Bell Street. Andy knew that dogs have a unique way of bringing people together, transforming strangers into neighbors and creating vibrant community spaces. On July 21, 2026, after confronting pancreatic cancer with courage and resilience for more than two and a half years, Andy passed away.

Andy asked that memorial gifts be directed to an endowment supporting local dog parks throughout Providence, a tribute to the extraordinary companionship he shared with Marley. To honor his wish and celebrate his love for Marley, the Marley Goose Dog Park Endowment for the People of Providence has been established at the Rhode Island Foundation.
